New Referee recertification class on March 13th, 6:30 P.M. at State Street School.

Referees need to follow all three steps on the website.
Step 1 - You must register online in order to participate in the recertification class.
Step 2 - All adults 18 and over need to complete this section, Referees under 18 do not need to complete this portion.
Step 3 - VERY IMPORTANT - Complete the online test. Take the test and repeat as necessary to achieve a REASONABLE grade of 70 or higher. The form states 80 or higher, which should be your goal; however, 70 or greater will be considered acceptable for this session.
IMPORTANT - If you have difficulties accessing the test form, contact Mark Oliver at sdi@risrc.net. Email him your name and association (Westerly Youth Soccer Association) related to how to get the test form and he will enter you into the system, allowing you to take the test.

Referees - in order to maintain control on the field, it is extremely important that you conduct and present yourself in a professional manner.
Your ENTIRE Referee uniform is required to be worn when you are refereeing a game. This means wearing an official yellow, black, red or blue shirt with black referee shorts (soccer shorts - NOT basketball shorts) and also offficial black referee socks (not recreational socks) with cleats (no sneakers). Your whistle and watch are the final two pieces that make up your complete uniform!
Referees need to use their whistles - take control of the game.
Referees need to control players pushing/shoving in all age groups and
need to control aggressive play and verbal exchanges by players.
WYSA will be observing to ensure these policies are enforced.
